Richard J. Cro

September 4, 1952 – November 7, 2020

The devoted son of the late Carmela “Dolly” Martosella Cro.

Beloved husband and best friend to Maureen “Mo Cro” (nee Kerrigan) for 36 years. Cherished brother & brother-in law to Sandy Scarpato (John), Jim (Philomena), Denise Heal (Dick), and Timothy Kerrigan (Christine). Lovingly known as Uncle Ree & Uncle Richard to 10 nieces & nephews and 19 great nieces & nephews.

Richard loved spending time with family, challenging everyone to a few rounds of sports trivia.  He was the ultimate sports fan; loved the Phillies, Penn State football, and a good day at the race track.  He loved the Jersey shore; he & Maureen would get to the beach every chance they could.  Every January the planning began for Phillies Spring training in Florida.  He & his brother Jimmy would gather everyone around the table on Christmas Eve & begin to ask, “Who’s in this year”?  Jimmy & Phil are waiting to see how many will be coming down to Florida for the baseball adventure.

Fondly known as “Richie” to his many, many friends & co-workers; he had a passion for many things; politics, serving as a committeeperson for over 30 years with the 65th Ward, 21st Division, a proud member of the Teamsters Local #77, serving as shop steward & most recently serving as trustee of the executive board of the Teamsters Local #77 & recently retired from the Pennsylvania turnpike after 25 years of service.

Rich proudly served his country with the Army Reserves.

He was a caring and loyal friend to so many people throughout his life.  Memories his friends are sharing speak of how passionate, caring & loyal he was with them, with his beliefs and always having your back- no matter what!

Richard, Uncle Ree, Richie – you have touched many lives on earth by loving us, always making us laugh and always having our back!  We look forward to you continuing this in your new journey as you are forever in our hearts each & every day – We LOVE YOU  XoXo
