Phillip E. Myers

Phillip Edward “Bud” Myers passed away peacefully on the evening of November 21st, 2019. He was survived by his wife Carol Myers, his beloved children Denise Tull (Rob), Phillip Myers (Susie), Lynette Spangler (John) and Sharon Rogers. He was predeceased by his wife Helen Myers, whom he was married to for 47 years until her death in 1999. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law Jerry Rogers and his grandson Kevin Rogers. He was also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Bud grew up on a family farm in Fowler, Indiana. He loved sports and was a notable high school basketball and baseball player. Bud had several tryouts for major league baseball teams, but his dream took a different direction when he was drafted by the United States Army. Bud served from June of 1951-July of 1953. Bud retired as a machine operator from Standard Pressed Steel in 1996 after 44 years of hard work. He was well-loved by coworkers and supervisors, and made many lifetime friendships from his work and through various activities. He was a hunter, a fisherman, and could fix anything. In recent years he honed his craft of woodworking. He was a man of integrity and humor, and he loved his family and friends fiercely and deeply.
