Marie Veronica Wilusz (nee Wisniewska)
Marie was born on October 28, 1930 in Philadelphia. Marie passed away peacefully on May 27, 2021 of natural causes at 90 years old, surrounded by her loving family. She was the youngest of six. Marie was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late Joe (Manek) Wilusz. Marie was a loving mother of six children: Karen Fiorentino (Ed), Joe (Phyllis – 2009), Ed (Karen), Michael (1994), John (Sandy), Andrew (Sharon). She was the beloved Mommom to 17 grandchildren: Ed (Floris), Eric, Kira (Bill), Zach (Theresa), Joe (Lauren), Greg (Kelly), Dave (Jen), Sue (Joe), Danny (Brighid), Kate (Chris), Mary (Justin), Anne (Jeff), Elizabeth, Kasia (Ian), Mieke (Chuckie), Bram and Dre. Marie was also beloved Mommom to 12 ½ great-grandchildren: Billy, Connor, Gavin, Tommy, Katie, Ava, Hanna, Francis, Addie, Joey, Killian, Julia and one on the way.
Marie was always friendly and caring. She was known for her engaging personality and sharp mind, which she retained until the end. She loved a good conversation, was rarely at a loss for words, nor short on time to lend an ear. A long-time parishioner of St. John Cantius Church, she was a devout Catholic who lived her faith.
Marie had many interests throughout her life, with family and friends being her beginning and end. Marie loved spending time with her husband, Joe. Together, they traveled near and far. They especially liked following Polka bands to dance and to listen to the music. Marie relished family beach time.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, June 2nd 2021 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at St. John Cantius Church located at 4400 Thompson St., Philadelphia, PA 19137. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Marie at 11 a.m. in the main Church, followed by the interment of her cremated remains at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
