Marie C. Magee

Born November 24, 1935 in Philadelphia to Daniel J. and Mary C. (Carrabine) Quimby. A self-described “army brat” her family lived in many states and settled in St. Timothy’s parish. She is predeceased by sisters Doreen and Eleanor and survived by brother Daniel and many nieces and nephews.
She is a graduate of St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls, Jefferson College of Nursing, Community College of Philadelphia, and in 2011 obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Drexel University at the age of 75.
She was active in her parish, St. John the Evangelist, where she made meals for the poor, scarves and blankets for the homeless and rosaries for the parishioners and children.
She served as a community member for three years on Aria-Jefferson Health’s Patient Safety Committee. Prior to that, she was a devoted nurse for nearly 40 years, having worked at St. Mary Medical Center, Aria-Jefferson’s Torresdale campus, Jeanes Hospital and Nazareth Hospital.
