Sadly on March 8, 2019, Marcella T. “Marcie” Smith (Halili) age 65, of Philadelphia PA, was called home by the angels, to live forever in our hearts.
She will be missed beyond measure by her husband Jack, and her children Chris (Karen), Steph Keller (Steve), and Justin. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and Rachel, Taylor, Joey, Molly, & Kenzie will never forget their “Mom Mom”.
A loving family will now carry on their sister’s legacy of love and kindness. Siblings Marquita Kimmel (John), Butch Halili (Pat), Tina Bottomley (Jim), Anita Baron (Joe), Lori Donovan (Guy) will miss her dearly. Predeceased by her parents Carlos and Lillian Halili and her youngest brother, David.
Marcie was easy to love and impossible to forget. Words can’t begin to express the impact she left on this world and in the hearts of all she met. As a hairdresser for 40 years, she cut and permed many heads in the Frankford neighborhood. Later in life, taking on the role of childcare worker at Creative Beginnings…she was easily everyone’s favorite teacher. Her calm presence was not only reassuring to the babies, but to the parents as well.
Countless close friends, family members, and neighbors will never forget Marcie’s contagious laugh and beautiful smile. She had a way about her that can’t adequately be described. Life will never be the same, but heaven just got a little brighter.
A tremendous thank you to everyone who helped and supported the family in Marcie’s last days. Your selflessness and compassion is etched in the minds and hearts of her family and they wouldn’t have survived without you.
Please join the Smith family after 1:00 pm Saturday, March 23rd at Delaware Valley Cremation Center 7350 State Road Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Marcie’s life.
