Lydia Esther Rolon Castro, age 72, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2019. She was born April 28, 1947 in Humacao, Puerto Rico to Juan Rolon and Amada Castro. Lydia loved to help people in need. She sheltered and fed many regardless of background and precedence. Her mind and actions were still on service-mode. She was always coming up with fund-raising ideas that varied from cupcake and donut sales to rotisserie chicken to help PTA or Church. She also shared her love and compassion with food, such as typical Puerto Rican dishes and deserts.
For many years Lydia worked from home on her small catering business who delighted many in the Philadelphia-metro area. It suited her servant’s heart. She was detailed-oriented on every aspect to ensure everyone was pleased and happy after experiencing her food. Her life was a living example of her passion for helping and serving others.
She was full of pride for every accomplishment from all her children and grandkids. She was quick to share all the events with anyone that was listening or interested. You could see her happiness in her eyes while doing so. She never spoke about herself, but always about her loved ones.
Lydia is survived by her daughters Agnes, Cutsy, and Lymary; her sons Rafael, Samuel, and Luis; grandchildren, Kidany, Angelis, Daniel, Jonathan, Christian, Lydia (Yiyi) and her many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
