Kathleen Patricia Stahl passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 16, 2021. She was a resident in the Memory Care Unit at the Belvedere Center in Chester, PA. Kathleen was 89 years old. She was pre-deceased by her husband Charles Leonard (8-25-74), her only son Charles Patrick (9-24-05), and her daughter Karen Barbara (5-14-20). Kathleen is survived by her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, a sister, and nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was born on July 11, 1931 in Bloomfield, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Patrick (1975) and Edith Carpenter (1992). Kathleen graduated from Olney High School in January of 1950. Later that same year she married Charles L. Stahl at Saint Ambrose Church on September 30th at 4:00 p.m. They resided in Northeast Philadelphia. Kathleen worked for Girard-Mellon Bank for over 30 years. Once retired, she briefly worked in a laundromat. Her last job was taking Driver License photos where she worked until the age of 84.
Over the years, Kathleen cared for her ailing husband, handicapped daughter, and her grandson, Jason. She always did what was needed for her family. Kathleen was an amazing woman. She was a kind, sweet, loving and humble human being. She was the strongest person we have ever known.
Kay, as she was affectionately called, would always say “a kind word or kind gesture goes a long way.” And Kathleen practiced the words she spoke. She was a ray of sunshine for the many lives she touched in her lifetime. We know this to be true because Kathleen is our beloved mother. Rest in peace…you are forever in our hearts.
