Joseph Dessin (Joe), of Philadelphia passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at the age of 80.  Father of Sharon Dessin (Steven) and Joanne Dessin (Christopher) and Grandfather to Erin, Katherine, Thomas and Abigail.  He will also be missed by his siblings: Barbara Rushton (Al), Richard (Joan), Mary Bupp, Carol Stroup and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Joe loved bowling and could be found playing in many leagues in the Philadelphia area over much of his lifetime. He also enjoyed salt water fishing at the Jersey shore, and watching his Eagles and Phillies games over some cold beers.  His family suspected that he enjoyed complaining about them when they were bad as much as he did celebrating when they won championships.   In addition, Joe greatly enjoyed visits with his family and playing and winning at Christmas Charades. He was fond of singing and harmonizing to some of his favorite Johnny Mathis or Doo Wop songs, dancing with his daughters and enjoyed buying treats for his beloved grandchildren.  Joe also greatly enjoyed lunching with his many sisters and brothers whom were very important to him and he loved very much. Joe was self-employed as a wallpaper installer and also worked for wallpaper retailers in Philadelphia.  

 A celebration of his life will be held at a later date as soon as conditions permit.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joe’s name be sent to Federation Housing, 8900 Roosevelt Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19115.
