Joan B. Buddendorff

Age: 78 of Bensalem, PA

Joan Buddendorff (nee Gorbsky) passed away on July 4, 2020.

Joan was the devoted wife of the late Frederick Buddendorff; beloved mother of Rose (John) McKeaney, Frederick Buddendorff and David (Maria) Buddendorff; adoring grandmother to six and great-grandmother of seven; cherished sister of Robert (Lois) Gorbsky and Dorothy (Barry) Hochman. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews.

Joan attended Our Lady of Pompeii School. She graduated from Little Flower High School for Girls in 1959 and was a longtime member of their alumni. When Joan worked at Robbins 8th & Walnut, she earned a certification in geology. She was proud of the summer day camp she ran for neighborhood children. Joan also ran the youth organization in Christ Church hall. She was able to get grants for supplies, including mats, so that the kids could learn judo and other activities.

Joan enjoyed crocheting blankets, reading, and was very good at arts and crafts. But her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Joan’s family on Thursday, August 20th at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 601 Bristol Pike, Croydon, PA from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m., where her memorial mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place after the memorial mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA.
