Age: 88 of Philadelphia

Passed away on August 25, 2020.

George was the cherished brother of the late Edward G. Shields, Margaret M. Lloyd (Jim), James F. Shields and Rev. William J. Shields; devoted uncle of Mark C. Lloyd (Patti), Edward G. Lloyd (Nancy), Joseph A. Lloyd (Annie), Karen M. Borski (Bob), Pamela T. Ewing (Jim) and the late James R. Lloyd, Jr (Vicki). George will also be sorely missed by many great nieces and nephews.

George was born in 1932, the youngest child of Margaret and Edward and raised in Swampoodle. He was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School, and a member of St. Dominic’s Church for many years. George worked his entire career at INA. He was devoted to his high school, his faith, the city of Philadelphia but most importantly, his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet George’s family on Friday, August 28th from 9am-9:45am at St. Dominic’s Church, 8504 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Interment will be held privately at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA. In lieu of flowers charitable donations in George’s name may be made to St. Dominic’s Church.
