Francis E. Hope

Passed peacefully at home Wednesday, July 17th with his loving family by his side. He is the husband of Eileen Hope and father to Vincent, John and Jillian.

Fran was born in Philadelphia, April 17th, 1964. He graduated from Performing Arts High School as an art major where he met his wife and best friend Eileen. Fran was a lifelong member of Philadelphia’s Local #14 Insulators & Asbestos Workers Union. Fran was truly one of a kind. He was generous, creative and had a famous sense of humor. You never would have known the health struggles that Fran was battling, because despite his challenges, he was always willing to help or give and he never lost his quick wit and great sense of humor. He loved carpentry, ghost-hunting and music. He taught himself guitar and fulfilled his dream of playing in a band and he loved performing for people. He mostly loved his wife and kids. He was genuine and sincere and was a true gentleman. He was down to earth and an all around great man who was loved by many, many people. He was a man who loved his God and his Country.

Francis is preceded in death by his mother Catherine P. Hope (nee Young), father Jack F. Hope, and his brother John Hope. He was a wonderful husband of 23 years to his wife Eileen (nee Issel); father to Vincent, John and Jillian; brother to James M. Hope, K. Hope (Bruce) Stelweck, Helen (Daniel) Jackson, and Christine Hope; brother-in-law to Susan (Michael) Bones, and Jane Marie (Joseph) Gallagher. He also had many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Fran will be forever loved and remembered by everyone who knew him.

Please join the Hope family after 6:00 pm Tuesday, July 23rd at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Fran’s life. The memorial tribute service will begin promptly at 7:00 with time for refreshments and fellowship immediately afterwards, from around 7:30 until 9:30 pm, where Fran’s family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support.
