Eric J. Tavener

Eric James Tavener, 18 years young, is survived by his parents Kent and Lauren, siblings Alexis, Tayten and Jayson, his grandmom Kathy Bert, step-grandpop Tom, Uncle Mike and Sara, Uncle Tommy, great-grandmother Edith, and many second aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by his grandfather Jack Hearn and grandparents Kent and Kathy Tavener. He was also pre-deceased by his great-grandparents Mary and Jim Broomall, Anne and Jack Hearn, Edna and Roy Mackey, and Mildred and Edgar Tavener.

Eric’s tattoo on his chest, “Family First,” explained his love for everyone. But to Eric, his family wasn’t just blood, it was his other siblings such as Keith (NoNo), Sabrina, Ashley, Orlando, Jake, Taquin, Frank and so many other people he called brothers and sisters. They entered his life at different times for different reasons as they needed help, lost their parents, or became like siblings when his mom fostered them. The list goes on and on. Eric also referred to their kids as his nieces and nephews and loved them very much.

Eric spent his early days at Moss A.A. playing football, baseball and basketball. He attended Bridesburg School, St. John Cantius, St. Tim’s and Fitzpatrick Elementary School. He ended his later education at Tamaqua H.S. and Paulsboro H.S. He volunteered at Bethel Church working with kids and attending youth ministry with his family. Eric also enjoyed playing saxophone with the Broomall String Band. As a young adult, Eric played PS4 and his favorite games were Apex and Fortnight. He spent his early summers at Pine Haven Campground and Ocean View Campground, finally settling in the last two years at his family’s house in Wildwood, NJ working as a lifeguard on Morey’s Pier. Eric was an amazing person and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial gathering Saturday, March 7th, where his viewing will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M., at Bethel Church, Philadelphia Mills, 903 Franklin Mills Circle, Philadelphia, PA 19154 followed by his funeral service at 11:00 A.M.
