Edward J. McNicholas passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2017 at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Philadelphia on January 25, 1954. Ed was the beloved husband of Denise (Coccia) McNicholas and devoted father of Edward, Sean (Katie) and Patrick. He was the son of the late Edward and Marion McNicholas and loving son-in-law of Vincent and Audrey Coccia. He is also survived by his siblings Maryellen (Bill) Fox, Nari (Larry) Scott, Kevin (the late Maureen) McNicholas, Megan (Dennis) Kennedy, his sister-in-law Gina Coccia and many nieces and nephews.

Edward was a graduate of La Salle University, where he earned his B.S. in business. His education led him to proudly work for The Boeing Company in Ridley Park, PA for 30 years. He excelled as a Sr. Procurement Manager and formed many close relationships throughout his entire career. He loved his family dearly and created some of his fondest memories while vacationing down the Jersey Shore in Ocean City. He was an avid Flyers and Eagles fan, which he passed down to his sons. Edward always made sure that his main priority was his family, attending all his sons’ sporting events and providing invaluable advice that sculpted his sons into the men they are today. He will be truly missed by his wife, children, extended family & friends.

Relatives, friends and employees of Boeing are invited to his viewing Thursday evening August 17, 2017, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday morning, 9:45 am to 11:00 am at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19116. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at William Penn Cemetery.
