Edmund C. Hewins, age 60, was called home to live with His Father in Heaven, on November 11, 2017, following a long and courageous battle with complicated health conditions. Ed was born on February 6, 1957 in Abington, PA to Edmund and Marie Hewins. They predeceased him. He has two sisters, Terry (Don) and Christine (Randy) Tompson. Also Surviving Ed are his two children, Edmund Jr. and Elizabeth, a granddaughter Elizabeth Soto, and his longtime companion, Janet E. Hoag.

Ed was a man who loved his career as a tool and die maker, an occupation that he learned from his father. In Ed’s free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. He loved spending time with family and friends, and he will be dearly missed by all who remain behind.

A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at the Frankford Presbyterian Church at 4301 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA on Saturday November 25, 2017. The viewing will begin at noon, with a memorial service to follow at 1 PM. Light refreshments will be served at the church following the service. All who knew Ed are welcome to attend and greet the family.
