David W. Gerhardt passed away at Chandler Hall in Newtown on August 14, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 87. He was the son of the late Herman and Ellen (Preston). David leaves behind his loving wife Anna (nee: McConaghy) and his children Karen MacAinsh (Scott); David R.; Nancy Wax (Richard); Dawn Markham (Frank); and Amy Ganzel (Dwyane). He was blessed with 11 grandchildren Nicholas Miller (Alex); Barbara Basham (Aaron); David A.; Laura; Richie Wax; Michelle Wax, William Markham; Andrew Markham, Sarah Ganzel, Ryan Ganzel and three great grandchildren Dylan, Sadie, and Isaiah. He is also survived by his sisters Nancy Frain and Jane Frain both of Ephrata, PA and predeceased by his siblings Emma, Conrad, Janet, Albert, Evelyn, Lorraine, Herman, and Jack. He leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

David was an avid golfer so much so that he golfed five days a week – come rain or shine – whenever the course was open. He also loved to ski and took many trips with his family, including nieces Faith Steigelman and Judy Stryjewski.
