Age: 77 of Philadelphia

Passed away on May 26, 2019 at the age of 77. Devoted husband of 57 years of AnneMarie (nee Bainbridge). Loving father of Dawn Mach (Edward), and the late Christopher (Terry Bussard) and Jeannette. Proud grandfather of Steven Mach. Bernie was a retired lieutenant of the Philadelphia Fire Department. A 67-year veteran of Troop 18, “Big Bear” spent many years as Scoutmaster and in other key Scouting positions. He was a constant mentor to so many people and lives on through the knowledge and skills he shared with others. Bernie held the love of two families, his own Annie and their children, son-in-laws and grandson and his scouting family. He gave his all to both and will be missed by all.

Family, friends, and fellow Scouters are invited to a viewing on Monday, June 3rd at the Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 from 6pm-9pm. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 4th at St. John Neumann Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare, 10400 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19116 from 9:30am-10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19150 at 12:30pm. Scouters are encouraged to wear their uniform. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bernard Frazer Memorial Fund (Troop 18 BSA), c/o Dennis Abernethy, 41 Indian Path Lane, Feasterville, PA 19053.
