Patrick Rock

One minute before midnight on Thursday, June 10th, Patrick Dennis Rock, loving husband, father of 2 sons, and “Pop-pop” to 3 grandchildren, passed away at the age of 69.  Before his passing, he went into a peaceful sleep surrounded by his loving family.

Patrick was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 28, 1952, to Joseph Rock and Kay (Smith) Rock. He, and his older brother Joe, were raised by their father and stepmother Mary (Sherrick) Rock.

On November 6, 1971, Pat married Annette (Reinhardt) Rock. They raised two sons, Christian and Matthew. 2021 marks fifty years of marriage for Pat and Annette Rock.

The name Pat Rock is synonymous with hard work. He worked in the trades for 50 years and proudly never retired, often working through injuries and illness and never slowed down.  Quite simply, he was a builder.  A builder of homes; a builder of classic cars and motorcycles; a builder of model train sets; a builder of Halloween and Christmas displays; a builder of blocks and castles with his grandsons.

Pat was also a builder of families.  A quiet person by nature, he kept his circle of friends small, but he was fiercely loyal.  Many of his now closest friends he met as a teenager. He was also immensely proud that many that served as his helpers in the building trades, learned from him and went on to be successful in the field.

Patrick is survived by his wife of 50 years, Annette Rock, his two children Christian Rock and Matthew (wife, Colleen) Rock, his brother Joe Rock, his half-sister Kathleen (Rossino) Connelly and grandchildren Lily, Benjamin and Aaron. Pat was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Rock, his mother, Kay (Smith) Trainham, his stepmother Mary (Sherrick) Rock and his half-brother George Gussler.

Please join the Rock family after 6:00 pm Friday, June 25th, at the State Room, 7350 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating Pat’s life. A short memorial service will take place promptly at 7:00 with time for refreshments and fellowship immediately afterwards, from around 7:15 until 9:45 pm, where Pat’s family will be welcoming to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support.
