Patrick Joseph McFadden 90 years old of Bensalem, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 5th, 2021. Patrick is survived by his beloved wife, Geraldine McFadden, as well as his loving children, Patrick McFadden, Jr. (Colleen), Sally Rongione (Michael), Ellen Grant, and Marianne Murphy (Michael). He is also survived by his 10 cherished grandchildren, and 6 adored great grandchildren, as well as many beloved family and friends. Patrick will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Patrick was born in Philadelphia along with his 11 siblings living in a three-bedroom house with both of his parents having immigrated from Ireland. Patrick graduated Highschool from North Catholic High having missed only one (1) one day in his entire 12 years so that he could take care of his sick sibling. Pat went to Korea in 1952 and left being Honorable Discharged, he was a proud Korean War Veteran. After being honorably discharged from the USMC he then attended LaSalle College and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree, he was the first college graduate in his known family history. Pat retired from the Department of Defense as a Director. Just before retiring he fulfilled his lifetime dream of obtaining a pilot’s license, and took to the air with the USAF Civil Air Patrol. Pat enjoyed his retirement to the fullest with his wife, 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. May Pat rest in peace, he will be missed.
Patrick’s Funeral Mass will be held privately due to the Covid-19 restriction. For those who have been invited to attend the Mass will take place at St Ephrems Parish on Wednesday January 13th at 10:00 am. His interment services will also be private. He will be buried at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Thursday January 14th, his burial will take place at 11:00 am.
