It is with great sadness that we announce Giovanni (John) Stancati, 74, passed away on November 22, 2019.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Carmela Stancati, son Anthony (Dana), daughters Serena Stancati, Francesca (Brian) Romaniello, brother Michele (Elena) Stancati, and grandchildren Nicholas, Sophia, and Michael. John was preceded in death by his father Pasquale, mother Eufrasia, brother Francesco, sisters Antonietta and Diana, and son Joseph.

John was born in Cosenza, Italy on June 9,1945. He attended technical school in Italy and was certified as an HVAC technician. In 1970, he moved to the United States. John worked for Hill Refrigeration for 15 years and then ran his own business, JS Refrigeration, for over 25 years.

John had a passion for many things, some of which included his family, particularly his grandchildren, cars, Formula 1 racing, Juventus soccer, cooking, music (especially Elvis and Italian music), cheering on the Eagles, and most memorably, hosting the traditional Stancati Christmas Eve dinner for his family and friends every year.

Please join the Stancati family after 6:00pm Friday, December 6th at Delaware Valley Cremation Center, 7350 State Rd. Philadelphia, PA 19136 for a gathering of remembrance in honoring and celebrating John’s life. The memorial tribute service will begin promptly at 7:00pm where Father Joseph from Maternity BVM parish will be doing a special prayer in John’s memory with time for fellowship immediately afterwards, from around 7:15 until 9:30pm, where John’s family will be accessible to receive the loving comfort of your condolences, remembrances and support. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in his honor.
